Chart notes
BIG SKOOKUM was up close shadowing the pacesetter, gradually dropped back near the five-sixteenths, was asked at the top of the stretch, kept on late and surged from between rivals near the wire to prevail. I'M THISTY KID stalked the leading trio, went five wide on the turn, bid in late stretch but was outfinished. MIDWEST WILDCAT stalked from outside about three wide into the turn, moved closer on that bend, took the lead at the top of the stretch, edged clear in mid-stretch, faltered late. LIES N DECEPTION bumped with a rival at the start, moved up to mid-pack heading to the turn, saved ground inside on that bend, steadied slightly and waited passing the five-sixteenths, got through inside at the quarter pole, came out in the stretch and kept on evenly. MIDNIGHT MASTER pursued from mid-pack, went three to five wide on the turn swinging out a few paths for the drive, kept on evenly. EERIE'S SONG quickly moved clear, set the pace inside, gave way in the stretch. DELONG SHOT switched out off the inside early, raced two wide between foes heading to the turn dropping back, angled six wide coming out of that bend and improved position but failed to menace the top ones. HANG TUFF bumped with a rival at the start, was outpaced trailing to the turn, swung nine then ten wide into upper stretch and passed tired rivals. LORD BLOCK moved out early then back in racing toward the rear two to three wide on the turn, was not a factor. DANG IT DAN bumped with a rival at the start, switched out heading up the backstretch, raced three wide into the turn moving out five wide midway on that bend, floated eight deep turning for home, failed to rally. WARSHIN MACHINE bumped with the outside foe at the start, raced off the pace outside four wide through the turn, swung out nine wide leaving that bend, was never near enough to threaten. ROAD MAN broke in the air and slowly, pulled forward between runners working up to race just off the leading trio heading into the turn, was encouraged a bit at that juncture racing three to four deep on the turn but steadily retreated.
