PATTY G'S BOY had speed three deep then drafted back off an inner pair of rivals, stalked the dueling leaders while outside a foe mid turn, shifted out under pressure past the three sixteenths, closed determinedly under left handed asking and got up in the final jumps. SAWYER'S SONG , sent up between foes to entertain the pace, sparred outside TIS WELL into and around the turn, gained a short lead under asking in upper stretch, wandered outward clinging to command inside the sixteenth pole, kept on gamely between horses but was edged at the wire. TIS WELL broke on top and set a pressured pace inside, dueled around the turn, stayed on after being headed in upper stretch, fought back to be on even terms leaving the sixteenth marker and continued valiantly to the wire. SCHUBERT SONATA stumbled badly at the break, regrouped and dropped inside, edged up to be close into the turn, was under a ride pursuing past the five sixteenths, swung out five wide in upper stretch, failed to kick on soon after and weakened.
