Chart notes
GRANDISIMO broke in and brushed, tucked inside at the back, closed in around the far turn, challenged from the rail entering the final furlong, fought with GOLD FOOT into deep stretch, dug in late and edged the runner-up. GOLD FOOT stalked in the two path, got shuffled back on the backstretch, was on the move while angling four wide around the far turn, surged to the front at the eighth pole, held a short lead over GRANDISIMO into the final sixteenth and yielded grudgingly. CAISSON got crowded early, tracked from inside, crept closer on the backstretch, waited in hand along the rail then in the two path on the far turn, bid between rivals in upper stretch but was no match for the top pair late. KEEP MOVIN' ON traveled in the two path towards the rear early, trailed outside a rival on the backstretch, continued at the back on the far turn, swung four wide late on the bend and rallied for a minor award. STAGGER LEE vied between rivals for six furlongs, dueled into the lane, fought to midstretch and weakened. JOINT VENTURE took a short lead battling outer quartet around the clubhouse turn, showed the way with a pair of rivals up the backstretch, maintained command through the far turn, lost the lead with a furlong remaining and weakened in the furlong grounds. SPEARFISH settled in the two path, moved inside early on the backstretch, followed in range between runners at the quarter pole, ran into traffic turning for home and weakened. WIZARD OF WESTWOOD vied five deep around the clubhouse turn, three deep up the backstretch and far turn, failed to keep up with the top pair into the lane and faded. JIMMY BLUE JEANS vied three deep between rivals, dropped off the speed battle on the backstretch, rounded the far turn two then three wide and weakened. J T'S WATCH vied four deep between early, fell out of range three wide on the backstretch, fell back to last three then two wide on the far turn and had little left for the drive.
