PAPA YO was hustled from the gate, contested the pace on the inside, was eased back off the pace outside the five-eighths pole then switched to the outside, moved back up to make a bid outside the leader at the nine-sixteenths pole, vied in the two to three path on the far turn, took the lead at the five-sixteenths pole, shook clear while asked for his best into upper stretch then came under a right-handed crop, extended the advantage into the final furlong, drew away under a drive into the final sixteenth then was eased up while much the best. EZ ROLL moved in early, shifted from the rail to the two path early on the first turn, settled off the pace, moved closer with five furlongs to run, was asked in the two then three path on the far turn, chased in the four path into the stretch and safely secured the place while no match for the winner. FATEFUL LIGHTNING broke a bit slow then dropped back, came out into the first turn, raced in the three path on that bend, lagged at the rear, drifted out near the five-eighths pole, gained on the rest of the field in the four then five path on the turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive and flattened out while clear for the show. LEFTEMBEHIND was off slow and spotted the front a few lengths, moved in towards the rear, raced in the two path on the first turn, settled near the back, moved closer with five furlongs to run, was asked in the three path on the far turn, dropped to the two path outside the quarter-pole and came up empty. AMERICAN GRANT dropped back early, settled on the inside, advanced closer near the five-eighths pole, was roused while inside on the far turn and failed to respond. GOOGOL JOKE showed speed and went to the front, raced in the three path on the first turn, contested the pace on the outside, moved clear outside the five-eighths pole, was challenged to his outside at the nine-sixteenths pole, vied inside to the two path under urging on the far turn, lost the advantage at the five-sixteenths pole, dropped back into upper stretch and tired. ANTIETAM veered out at the start then was hustled, rounded the first turn in the four path, was well placed in third position, came under urging late on the backstretch, chased in the four path on the far turn and capitulated.
