Chart notes
MIRACLE MULA led the way on the inside up the backstretch, saved ground around the bend, dueled in upper stretch, drifted out with a furlong to go, bumping with WOODSON in the process and held the win to the finish. WOODSON pressed the pace on the outside through the opening quarter, navigated the turn from the two path, drifted in mildly while dueling in tight quarters in upper stretch, was bumped hard by MIRACLE MULA passing the eighth pole and missed. WESTDAKOTA raced in the middle of the pack on the inside early, saved ground around the turn and improved position in the lane. LINE OF REASON chased the leader on the inside up the backstretch, navigated the turn from the two path and was outkicked in the stretch. AUDUBON ROAD tracked the leader on the outside up the backstretch, came around the bend in the three path and faded in the lane. BUY ME ANOTHER raced in the middle of the pack on the outside through the opening quarter, continued around the turn in the two path and made no bid. SMILE SMILE SMILE raced off the pace through the early going, navigated the bend from the three path and was empty in the stretch. DREAM ROUTE trailed well behind the field throughout, saved ground around the turn and was never a factor. THE RIDER OF HORSE FOUR, WOODSON, CLAIMED FOUL AGAINST HORSE THREE, MIRACLE MULA, CITING INTERFERENCE IN THE STRETCH. A STEWARDS INQUIRY WAS MADE INTO THE SAME INCIDENT. UPON REVIEW, HORSE THREE, MIRACLE MULA, WAS DISQUALIFIED AND PLACED SECOND.
