ROME'S CONQUEST pressed the pace up the backstretch, vied outside of GOLDEN LUNA going by the quarter pole, continued to battle into the lane, held a head in front, dug in determinedly and held on. LITTLE NI was off a step slow at the start, tracked the pace along the inside, saved ground around the turn, slipped through a narrow opening along the rail at the head of then lane, advanced into striking distance, dug in gamely along the rail and inched up closer to the wire. RAYMOND sat of the top pair through early stages, picked up the tempo three wide late on the turn, swung four paths wide entering the head of the lane, raced in aim for the late lead but lacked a final kick. GOLDEN LUNA set a pressured pace up the backstretch, vied inside of ROME'S CONQUEST around the turn, came two wide into the head of the lane, dueled between foes, fought gamely but ultimately yielded. KOSARI was never far from the frontend, swung five wide into the lane and lacked the needed kick for serious impact.
