Chart notes
DREAMING OF HOPE showed speed from the outside and set the pace, had a clear lead on the turn and held sway. SPIRIT BEAR was unhurried early, gained ground on the turn and was up for place. PERIWINKLE was in range and roused on the turn but from the five path at the top of the stretch finished evenly. REALLY THIRSTY checked early and was a factor on the turn but from the four path at the top of the stretch leveled off. ABITIBI was in tight early, trailed the field on the turn and from the six path at the top of the stretch had no impact. FIRECRACKER FIONA stalked the early leader but chased on the turn and dropped back through the stretch. A STEWARDS' INQUIRY AND A CLAIM OF FOUL BY THE RIDER ON ABITIBI AGAINST DREAMING OF HOPE FOR INTERFERENCE ON THE BACKSTRETCH RESULTED IN DREAMING OF HOPE BEING DISQUALIFIED AND PLACE FIFTH.
