Chart notes
FOXTROT HARRY settled while saving ground early on, shifted out nearing the half-mile marker, was widest into the far turn then rallied from the six to seven path into upper stretch, responded well into the lane, surged in the final sixteenth and determinedly got up for the win. RUSSELLS HUSTLE settled in the second flight to begin, tracked the pace between runners into the backstretch, well placed to the far turn, asked four wide to upper stretch, rallied into the final furlong, vied at the sixteenth pole, was outkicked in the final yards for the win and held for the place. OPTIMUS KAT prominent away from the gate, took back and tracked the early pace from the inside, well placed while saving ground to the far turn, rallied along the rail to upper stretch then vied at the furlong pole, held a narrow lead to deep stretch, was outfinished in the final yards and held for the show. CINCO RICHIE vied for the early lead then took command to the backstretch, set a decent pace from the two path heading into the far turn, dug in between rivals into upper stretch, fought stubbornly to the final sixteenth then grudgingly gave way in deep stretch. CLARESTOWN broke awkwardly and was a step slow leaving the gate, made an early move outside of rivals then stalked the pace to the backstretch, pressed into the turn then vied three wide to upper stretch, battled between rivals to the final sixteenth then yielded in deep stretch. DON'TASK DON'TTELL allowed to settle early, waited for racing room at the quarter pole, found a narrow seam to upper stretch, was blocked approaching the final sixteenth, angled out in deep stretch but couldn't find the needed response. GOT THUNDER unhurried in the early stages, trailed into the far turn, saved ground to upper stretch, faced a wall of horses approaching the final sixteenth and did not rally late. PUBLIUS settled in the second flight early on then caught a bit in tight between foes, moved out into the backstretch and tracked three wide nearing the half-mile pole, gave chase three wide nearing the quarter pole, fanned five wide to upper stretch, gave way in the lane.
