Chart notes
CHARLIES MINT led early, cleared into the turn, set the pace in the three to four path around the bend, responded to improve her lead when asked in the lane and remained well clear to the wire. CEANGAL chased midpack early, improved position near the seven sixteenths, tracked the leader in the four to five path on the turn, was driven into the lane, chased on with interest down the lane, could not reel the pacesetter in but kept finding to hold the place. ORPHAN ADDY broke outward, settled toward the rear of the main group, was nudged along in the five to six path on the turn, swung out near the center of the track, gradually drifted inward in the drive but improved position mildly for the show. GOLDEN WINTERAPPLE was sent for a forward spot, did not outsprint CHARLIES MINT or DERBY DAY ROSE early but tracked in close range, took up near the seven sixteenths when DERBY DAY ROSE came in, chased in the two to three path on the turn, was driven between horses in upper stretch and made mild improvement, shifted inward for the final furlong, and flattened in the final sixteenth. HEAVENSGOLDENGIFT settled near the rear early, took closer order in the three to four path on the turn, swung out near the center of the track into the lane, gradually shifted inward but ultimately lacked the needed kick. DERBY DAY ROSE briefly contended for the pace inside of CHARLIES MINT, settled back to track the pace, came inward in front of GOLDEN WINTERAPPLE approaching the seven sixteenths, tracked inside of CEANGAL around the turn, saved ground into the lane, but came up empty for the drive. BELLS OF LIAISON broke slowly, trailed in the three path on the turn and made no bid.
