Chart notes
GAS ME UP broke out a bit, settled off the leaders racing between foes on the first turn, inched closer on the far turn still off the inside in about the three path, moved out further turning into upper stretch and was set down for the drive, was carried out a bit and continued to drift out through mid- to late-stretch under stout left-handed urging, kept on grinding away and just got the nod. PIPER'S FACTOR sped clear setting the tempo from well off the inside heading into the first turn, shifted in a bit but still kept removed from the rail and with a clear advantage heading to the far turn, came out a bit in upper stretch and was put to urging, fought on with challengers well inside and out down to the wire but just missed. IRISH ACES was reserved off the pace early racing inside foes but off the rail, advanced past a tiring rival on the far turn moving out while continuing to gain leaving that bend, came into upper stretch five wide then altered in nearer the fence to avoid the drifting leader, kept on strongly inside making a bid past the sixteenth pole but just missed in a head-bobbing finish. WYOMING BILL was in a bit tight just after the start, settled off the pace caught outside foes four to six wide in the early going, made a mild advance still wide through the far turn, altered in a bit in mid-stretch and ran on evenly just off and between the leaders in the late stages. SEMINOLE CHIEF stumbled badly at the start, trailed along the inside, was off the rail passing a tiring foe on the far turn, came into upper stretch five then six wide, failed to rally and went evenly. G T FIVE HUNDRED moved forward but off the loose leader heading to the first turn, stalked that one from inside not cornering the best into that first bend, was encouraged along three furlongs out but had no response and retreated, bled and was transported off the course via equine ambulance.
