Chart notes
TRAVELLER unhurried to race near the rear of the field on the far turn, circled six wide with a steady rally and wore the runner-up down with a late surge to be up in time. ELFUEGOMASBRILANTE was well placed just off the leaders saving ground along the inside to midway on the far turn, tipped three wide around the pacesetter nearing the quarter pole to engage that one in upper stretch, took command midway down the lane and was caught in the final strides. GUN POLICY was slow early to be at the back of the field, remained at the rear to the top of the lane and closed well with a late bid to be gaining in deep stretch. LANGSTAFF ROAD tracked the leaders to be prominently placed turning for home and failed to mount a closing response. SIXTEEN CIGARETTES set the pace while well in hand through the turn, responded to battle to the eighth pole and gave way late. WORD FOR WORD pressed the pace for three-quarters and faded in the stretch.
