Chart notes
MASTER MUNNINGS , patiently handled off the pace while saving ground, remained inside while making progress into the lane, eased out and worked through a seam past the furlong grounds, closed sharply under right handed asking, took over from an inner BROCKTON with about fifty yards remaining and went clear at the wire. BROCKTON went clear early, set the pace towards the inside, kept an intial threat at bay entering the lane, maintained the advantage under a drive past the furlong grounds, dug in when confronted then gave way stubbornly through the final yards. SHOWPIECE saved ground, edged up into the far turn, was shuffled back a bit near the three eighths, came back on with an inside advance near the quarter pole, swung four wide to take aim in upper stretch, kept on willingly but was out kicked by an inner BROCKTON for second. ROYAL RENEGADE , towards the inside early on, moved up between foes near the half, paused when lacking some room near the three eighths, rebid outside the leader into the lane, chased on the left lead leaving mid stretch then faded late. MAX BARLEY , off the pace, circled four wide into the lane and had some belated action. NILAMBAR , three wide into the first turn, tracked the leader, failed to kick on under pressure nearing the lane and weakened. MUSIC BOX DANCER broke a bit slow, got very headstrong in the opening furlong, settled around the first turn and stalked three wide, lacked a response leaving the three eighths and retreated.
