Chart notes

CAROL'S MELODY set the pace along the inside, felt pressure from an outer pair turning for home, inched free in upper stretch then held firm from her persistent outer counterpart through the late stages. TRUE PRINCESS pressed outside of the eventual winner into and around the turn, chased that clearing one leaving upper stretch yet ran on to sustain her challenge through the final furlong but was kept at bay. FINAL SHIPMAN brushed with an inner rival leaving the gate, stalked three wide, prompted within striking range outside of the top pair around the turn, but chased while coming under urging passing the quarter pole, lacked progress through the lane then held show from an outer bidder late. WILD ACCLAIM pursued from midpack two wide, chased in the three to four path into the turn then stayed on to miss show. MENKAURE laid off of the pace near the inside, improved two wide into upper stretch but failed to menace. DANZIG'S DORA chased along the inside then gave way. HEARTBEAT brushed with an outer foe at the start, raced off of the pace in the three path and failed to factor.
