Chart notes
GARRINCHA tracked three deep, moved up to engage PEOPLE FORCE midway through the second turn, assumed command entering the stretch and drew off. PEOPLE FORCE opened clear to set a clear pace, was collared on the second turn, was unable to go on with the winner, but dug in to preserve the runner up spot. SKIPPER'S PRIDE was unhurried into stride, tucked in to save ground nearing the quarter pole, got through into the lane and finished with a belated advance. HANDSOFFTHEGOODS contended along the inside, angled out leaving the second turn, but came up empty entering the stretch. ICARUS was hustled along three wide, was floated out leaving the second turn and retreated.
