Chart notes

DOTSY broke a bit slow and spotted the front a few lengths, angled out at the rear then was urged along on the outside, came in while having the rider attempt to get her to switch leads around the five-eighths pole, moved closer at that point, gained in the four path on the turn, made a bid with three furlongs to run, took the lead while dropping to the two path into upper stretch, battled outside of the runner-up into the final furlong and drew away under steady urging to prove much the best. ATLAS A EYE was hustled from the gate, showed speed on the inside of LADY STARSTRUCK then was eased back just off the pace, was taken under a tighter hold while off the heels of the aforementioned foe who took the rail outside the five-eighths pole, was rated just off the pace, raced inside early on the turn, steadied off heels with three furlongs to run then moved to the two path, advanced forward despite not having a full clear path in front inside the five-sixteenths pole, shut-off LADY STARSTRUCK while going back to the fence and gaining on the leader then made a bid outside the quarter-pole, battled inside of the winner under a drive into the final furlong and proved no match while far clear for the place. CODY'S APPROVAL was hustled from the gate, moved in while showing speed, chased then pressed the pace on the outside, drew even with the leader while in the two path on the turn, took a short advantage just inside the three-eighths pole, was given her cue at the five-sixteenths pole, lost the advantage just inside the quarter-pole then dropped back into upper stretch and weakened but was clear for the show. BELMONT C. C. chased the early pace, was taken in hand while off heels when CODY'S APPROVAL came in outside the five-eighths pole, pursued the leader late on the backstretch, went around the turn in the three to four path, dropped back while remaining on her inside lead in upper stretch and came up empty. FRESHLY MINTED broke a half-step slow, dropped well off the pace under urging, went around most of the turn in the two path then shifted to the four path and was no factor. DREAM OF ME dropped well behind under urging, saved ground on the turn, moved out outside the furlong marker, drifted in around the sixteenth-pole and showed little. LADY STARSTRUCK showed speed then set the pace, moved to the inside around the five-eighths pole, came under pressure early on the turn, lost the advantage just inside the three-eighths pole, dropped back near the five-sixteenths then was checked while shut-off by the runner-up and faded. FOLLOWING THE RACE, THE RIDER OF LADY STARSTRUCK CLAIMED FOUL AGAINST ATLAS A EYE ALLEGING INTEREFERENCE OUTSIDE THE QUARTER-POLE. AFTER THE STEWARDS' REVIEW, NO CHANGE WAS MADE TO THE ORDER OF FINISH
