Chart notes
MISSION BEACH dueled on the inside up the backstretch, saved ground around the turn, kicked clear entering the stretch and held off a closer to the finish. RIVERSIDE raced off the pace through the opening stages, navigated the turn from the two path, began a bid passing the three sixteenths pole and gained ground steadily to the wire to narrowly miss. SIR EXTON chased the leaders up the backstretch, came around the bend in the three path and was outkicked in the lane but kept on to the finish. DUAL MONARCHY dueled on the outside early, continued around the turn in the two path and faded in the lane. SUMMER IN ADRIANE trailed the field throughout, saved ground around the bend and made no bid.
