Chart notes
TALE OF LADY MARIA well placed while saving ground, went up to vie for the lead along the inside into the far turn, dueled NEUTRAL CAUSE into upper stretch then lost the lead to that rival at mid-stretch, came again into the final sixteenth and proved best. NEUTRAL CAUSE forwardly placed while outside of runners, tracked the pace three wide along the backstretch, went up to vie for the lead three deep nearing the quarter marker, battled TALE OF LADY MARIA into upper stretch then took a narrow lead at the furlong pole, hung in the late stages and was outfinished for the win, while well clear of the rest for second. SWEET STAR rated off of the early pace then settled between foes, got shuffled back approaching the far turn, swung to the three then four path into upper stretch, was no match late for the top two but ran on to be a clear third. MARKET OF STOCKS caught in tight between rivals and shuffled back into the first turn, shifted out and raced three to four wide along the backstretch run, lacked the needed response to upper stretch and did not threaten late. SHIPSHEWANA assumed early command, set a prompted pace between rivals into the backstretch, met oncoming bids into the far turn, couldn't match strides into upper stretch and gave way in the drive.
