Chart notes
SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS settled on the inside, was roused on the far turn, moved to the two path near the five-sixteenths pole, swung out to the five path into upper stretch, rallied outside to make a bid inside the furlong marker, took the lead outside the sixteenth-pole, fought outside of the runner-up to the finish and prevailed under strong urging. SOUNDS LIKE A PLAN went around the first turn in the two path, was well placed behind the leading duo, moved from the inside to the three path while asked on the far turn, gained to make a bid near the three-sixteenths pole then took the lead, lost the advantage to the winner outside the sixteenth-pole, fought on inside that rival to the finish and missed while just able to get the place. GEORGE BRIGGS moved in early, settled while off the inside, was asked on the far turn, angled out to the six path just after turning into the stretch, rallied outside in the final furlong and closed strongly to just miss the place while up for the show. TONKA WARRIOR settled near the back in the two path, was urged along on the far turn, came into upper stretch in the four path while under a drive and finished willingly to get the last spot in the superfecta. MI BAGO went to the front, showed the way on the inside through solid fractions, was asked under threat late on the far turn, lost the advantage into upper stretch, battled under a drive into the final furlong and weakened. LEON BLUE settled outside while in the two to three path, was urged along on the far turn, came out to the six path into upper stretch and failed to respond. ITSALLCOMINTOGETHA was hustled from the gate, showed speed on the outside of MI BAGO, prompted the pace on the outside in the two to three path, was asked on the far turn, gained the lead into upper stretch, had the rider lose his crop inside the three-sixteenths pole then was headed by the runner-up, battled under a drive into the final furlong and tired. RUSSIAN REALM dropped back after the start then angled in at the rear, saved ground on the turns, came out into the stretch and was no factor.
