Chart notes
FAYES HEART urged to contention through the opening furlong, tracked two to three wide outside ONE TRUE DUDE, closed determinedly under strong handling and got up in the final jumps. ONE TRUE DUDE sped clear early along the inside, briefly lost his action leaving the half mile marker when clipped from behind by a riderless horse, regrouped and was rated along into the far turn while still dealing with the loose horse, came under a ride leaving the far turn, maintained a clear advantage under a drive nearing the sixteenth pole, kept on gamely but just failed to withstand the winner's charge. FAIRFIELD BAY , in close nearing the wire the first time, rated back off foes, shifted in and chased towards the inner rail but came up empty in the drive. TIZ THE GREAT , four wide with pursuit, faded. MAXIMUS SPEED , wide, dropped back early. THIS IS THE LIFE stumbled at the break and lost his rider. There was a stewards' inquiry into the start. No action was deemed necessary.
