CAFE LA PAIX (FR) took command past the wire the first time along the inside, opened up daylight through a quick opening quarter, extended that advantage through an equally quick half mild, saw that advantage start to shrink midway on the final turn, caved in when headed by the runner up in upper stretch. UFO (PER) off a step slow, raced back toward the inside, in the two path when asked along into the lane, failed to muster a closing response. STARSHIP MAGELLAN remained back throughout and made little impact. SMOOTH AN EASY trailed most of the way and was also not a factor. BEYOND REPROACH off the pace out in the course, four wide through the first turn, finished after a half.
