SPANISH GIRL off a bit slow, tracked close up on the inside, angled out on the far turn, came four wide into the lane, rallied steadily outside rivals in the final furlong, surged in deep stretch and got up in the final strides for the win. CLEAN WINNER stalked close up three wide, bid three wide on the far turn, dueled into the stretch, dug in gamely inside rivals, drifted out nearing the sixteenth marker bumping DIAMONDINTHESAND, then dueled to the finish and got second. DIAMONDINTHESAND raced four wide early, settled off the pace, moved up four wide on the backside, bid four wide at the quarter pole, dueled with CLEAN WINNER past midstretch, was bumped by that rival, then dug in gamely between horses to the finish. NO DENYING stalked close up two wide, bid between rivals on the far turn and tired. KATHLEEN'S DERBY was fractious in the gate, set the pace on the inside, dueled on the far turn and faded. After a Stewards' Inquiry into the stretch run, CLEAN WINNER was disqualified and placed third for interference near the sixteenth marker.
