Chart notes
ROCKY COLAVITO away well from along the inside, set a soft pace along the inside under light restraint, continued to show the way into and through the final turn, maintained a daylight advantage through the lane while kept to pressure. CONCRETE BOLT broke back, moved up to a forward position into the first turn, steadied when in a bit tight, settled in the run up the backstretch, came three wide for the drive, made a late run to be up for the show. BERNARDO prompted the winner from the outside, continued to put pressure on that one the middle half, lost contact with that same rival when straightened for home as he drifted out, chased, drifted in with less than a furlong remaining, weakened, caught late for the place. KEOKUK KID four wide into the first turn, three wide through much of the second when well back off the pace, continued one paced through the lane in failing to make an impact. ROWDY AMERICAN three wide through the first turn, had nothing for the drive to finish back. FOSFORITO five wide when trailing through the first turn, fell further back in the run up the backstretch, three wide through the final turn, was not a factor in the drive.
