Chart notes

PROUD AMERICAN settled while saving ground, made a steady advance to the quarter marker, vied for the lead from the inside to upper stretch, took command at the furlong marker, held off MISH to the final sixteenth and kept to task in the late stages. MISH forwardly placed early on, tracked the loose pacesetter to the turn, vied for the lead three wide at the quarter marker, battled PROUD AMERICAN into the lane, fought gamely to the final sixteenth but couldn't get by the determined winner late and was a clear second. ADIOS NOW hopped at the start and was off a step slow, settled outside of rivals in the early stages, coaxed four wide to the quarter marker, lacked a final response in the drive and finished evenly but was a clear third. HE BE HOPPIN settled in the second flight, coaxed three wide along the turn, angled in to upper stretch and failed to threaten in the late stages. ZYDECEAUX sent to vie for the early lead, took command and set the pace to the turn, carved out solid fractions along the bend then came under pressure nearing the quarter pole, overtaken to upper stretch and faded in the drive. KINETIC STONE prominent early then shuffled back in the opening furlong, ran in pursuit from the two path into the turn, trailed to upper stretch and did not offer a late response.
