Chart notes
HILLBILLY BOB sent for the early lead, set a moderate pace while well handled into the backstretch, met the bid of LODATO at the quarter marker, dueled that foe to mid-stretch, dug in into the final furlong then repelled LODATO into the final sixteenth, kept to task in deep stretch and proved best. LODATO rated while saving ground, tipped out and bid two wide at the quarter marker, dueled HILLBILLY BOB into the stretch, continued that battle to the final furlong, was repelled in the final sixteenth and was well clear of the rest for second. SKY MASTERSON settled to the backstretch then coaxed outside of rivals nearing the half-mile marker, chased from the three path to upper stretch, was no match late for the top pair but kept on into the final sixteenth and held well for third. FINEST GAMBLE forwardly placed early on, tracked between runners to the backstretch, chased into the far turn, weakened in the lane and was outfinished for third. LOOKING FOR STARS settled to the backstretch, asked for run two wide to upper stretch, failed to threaten. SPONGE TIME lacked early speed and passed tiring rivals in the stretch. RODHAN settled in the second flight, coaxed two then three wide along the backstretch, gave way along the far turn and did not factor in the drive. MY FOOLISH NOTION settled in the second flight to begin, moved to the outside into the backstretch then chased the pace three to four wide approaching the far turn, dropped back nearing the quarter marker, came up empty in the drive and was not persevered with late.
