ATHENA'S FURY was taken back before the first turn then moved in, saved ground while reserved off the pace, shifted to the three path while roused at the quarter-pole, rallied in upper stretch, closed well to make a bid between horses outside the sixteenth-pole then took the lead, bobbed heads with the runner-up the last few strides and narrowly prevailed under strong urging. BRYANT AND COOPER came in at the start and made light contact with FIVE DOZEN ROSES, settled while saving ground, moved to the two path while roused nearing the quarter-pole, dropped back to the inside in upper stretch, rallied into the final furlong, closed well to make a bid outside the sixteenth-pole, battled with the winner while bobbing heads late, poked a nose in front the last few strides but was denied while able to get the place. STARLIGHT DANCER was reluctant to load, bumped with rivals at the start, steadied some while taken back between horses in tight quarters early, settled while inside to the two path, moved to the three path about midway through the far turn, came into upper stretch in the six path, rallied outside into the final furlong, drifted in closer to the top two while gaining coming to the sixteenth-pole then made a bid, battled outside to the finish and missed while narrowly able to get the show. ROAGNA was well placed on the inside, moved out while asked on the far turn, reached the three path late on that bend, rallied to the lead into upper stretch then shook clear, led into the final sixteenth but was caught and just missed the trifecta. PAULA'S CHOICE broke a step slow then angled in at the rear, went around the first turn in the three path, settled well off the pace, shifted from the three path to the five path on the far turn and improved position. GALLEGA was rated in the two path, came under urging while going out to the four path on the far turn, was driven into the stretch in the five path, pursued the vanguard under a drive into the final sixteenth and lacked the needed kick. ARTISTIC SUCCESS showed speed on the outside then became keen, prompted outside in the two path while into the bit, took the lead in the two path on the far turn, lost the advantage into upper stretch and tired. ON A SUMMER DAY went around the first turn in the four path, settled outside without cover, traveled around the far turn in the four then three path and failed to threaten. FIVE DOZEN ROSES bumped with a rival at the start, bumped with SHE TAKES CASH into the first turn, raced in the three path on that bend, settled off the pace, dropped back in the three then two path under urging on the far turn and came up empty. MISS AMERICAN PIE angled in while going to the front, showed the way on the inside of a foe while along the rail, lost the lead under urging on the far turn and gave way. INTOTHEWILDERNESS raced in the three path on the first turn, was rated with cover, came out from behind cover near the half-mile pole, was asked around the seven-sixteenths pole, went around the far turn in the three then four path and had nothing left. SHE TAKES CASH bumped with STARLIGHT DANCER at the start, bumped with FIVE DOZEN ROSES into the first turn, saved ground while reserved off the pace, moved to the two path late on the far turn and failed to respond.
