Chart notes
PISTOL POWER vied for the lead with MIDNIGHT FURY from along the inside and drew clear late. UPSTART YANKEE saved ground while being unhurried, angled out to be four-wide leaving the three-sixteenths pole and finished strongly. MIDNIGHT FURY vied with PISTOL POWER for the lead from along the outside to near the stretch, could not stay with that one during the drive but held on well for third. EL JOY was allowed to settle racing three-wide, came four-wide into the stretch and lacked a rally. WINDS OF FREEDOM hopped at the start then moved up to be forwardly placed for six furlongs racing four-wide and weakened. MOUNT PELLIAR was off a step slow then settled in the back of the field, came five-wide into the stretch but was unable to menace.
