Chart notes
LOMAX lacked speed, stayed outside horses, raced three deep the final turn, was floated four wide in upper stretch, closed steadily and was up approaching the wire. BERNIE GOES BOOM bumped with GRAY BEAST at the start, saved ground on the second turn, swung outside on the backstretch, challenged for the lead outside GRAY BEAST entering the far turn, dueled, led near the sixteenth pole and just missed in a game effort. GRAY BEAST bumped with BERNIE GOES BOOM at the start, sprinted clear and moved to the inner rail on the first turn, remained along the rail, took pressure and weakened late. FAIRFIELD BAY stayed near the inner rail throughout and failed to rally. TACTICS , in hand soon after the start, angled out, rushed up three wide on the first turn, chased the pace to the final turn and weakened.
