MIDTOWN MISCHIEF stumbled at the start but broke at the front, was rated off the pace, rounded the turn in the two path, was roused outside the quarter-pole, spun into the stretch in the three path, steadied some while blocked behind traffic at the three-sixteenths pole, altered out for room outside the eighth-pole, rallied in the final furlong and closed well to just miss while clear for the show.
