Chart notes

PEPPER BROOKS bobbled inwards on the start, recovered to have a slim advantage outside a couple of runners in the beginning, dropped back in the three path between runners to be near the rear at the half with the field quite compact, closed in around d the turn vying between horses two wide for the lead by the quarter pole, battled inside having the two path for the stretch drive, seized command by the furlong pole and edged away at the wire for the spotty running win. AWESOME BEAT co-trailed on the outside in the beginning, tracked the loose leader at the half mile marker four deep outside three other challengers, continued to progress three wide circling around horses on the turn making a bid up top by the quarter pole, got a neck in front outside at the top of the lane but was outkicked by the winner inside in the late running while safely holding for the runners up share at the finish line. EGBERT WHO was a joint last on the inside at the start, advanced smartly in the rail midway along the backside, had a nice set-up on the rail all alone watching the embattled trio in midturn, shifted out posing a menacing presence three wide in mid-stretch but evened out setting for a clear third unable to threaten the top pair in the late going. B THE KING forced the early pace inside of two others leaving the chute, had the two path in midfield with the pack bunching up at the half, dropped back to the tail end unable to quicken with rivals throughout the turn running but did manage to show some interest when coming back on catching a weary rival in the final furlong. CAJUN INFLUENCE was brushed on the outside at the break, pressed between rivals at the start, opened up taking a clear lead unopposed up top by the half, maintained a slim advantage on the rail with two outside foes pressing the issue throughout the turn, relinquished the lead at the head of the lane unable to match strides with the front pair in upper stretch and folded inside of runners by the furlong marker.
