Chart notes
TIZ MARY'S COMET came out a bit at the start then was urged to make the lead, set the pace inside moving clear, was challenged leaving the turn, headed coming into upper stretch fought back determinedly to retake command and edge away late. CAPITAL CONNECTION advanced four wide into the turn, shifted in gradually on that bend advancing on the leader and making a bid at the five-sixteenths, obtained a narrow lead turning into upper stretch dueling with the inside foe now under urging, proved no match but was clearly second best. JUST ASAP was forced out at the start, settled at the rear shifting in, saved ground on the turn, moved out for the stretch run gaining four to six wide. LIL MUGGS got away well and had a brief early lead, chased the eventual winner from off the inside going three to four wide on the turn, ran on but needed more. CAPTAIN MERCURY was urged forward from the start, reached mid-pack chasing four to five wide into and on the turn, came into upper stretch eight wide, went evenly without threatening. EDITOR settled mid-pack inside, dropped back on the turn but saved ground, ran on in the stretch. TROUBLE AHEAD steadied early then altered out, raced off the pace five wide into the turn, came out eleven deep in the stretch, was never near enough to threaten. KEEP ON MOVING broke a step slowly, moved forward inside to chase into the turn, came out at the top of the stretch in range of the top two but dropped back and faded. IL CAVALLINO broke outwardly, was off the pace racing off the inside in the four to six path headed into the turn, swung out nine wide, failed to menace. COLONEL CALIENTE was outpaced early shifting in to race two to three wide on the turn, failed to menace. STORM THE STREETS was forwardly-placed chasing in behind the leaders racing up close, moved out from three to four to five wide on the turn, came a bit wider into upper stretch, dropped back and faded.
