Chart notes

NOISY CRICKET bobbled slightly on the break, travelled alongside the frontrunner pressing the issue outside down the backstretch, poked a head in front two wide in midturn, angled to the three path clinging on up top with rivals bearing down in upper stretch and doggedly kept finding more when urged on the prevail between horses at the finish line. FIELD HOCKEY was unruly prior to the start unseating the rider, calmly trailed the field outside four deep with the field tightly compacted at the half, ranged up three wide midway on the turn, took even closer order reaching for ground four wide at the quarter pole, swung out widest in the five path with the field abreast turning for home, inched up to the winner late but it was not enough while just getting the nod for the runners up share at the wire. HOITY MORONI emerged from the early scrum on the rail having a neck advantage inside down the backstretch, surrendered the lead but continued to duel on the fence throughout the bend, shaved the corner still in contention in upper stretch but could only run on mildly inside in the final furlong losing the secondary share in coming to the wire. BIG LEW had horses on either side travelling in mid-pack, sat poised two wide behind the contesting pair on the turn running, angled to the four path with it being anyones race at the top of the stretch but evened out in the last sixteenth of a mile to settle on the fringes in the end. KNOWING had the rail position drafting behind the engaged duo, continued to rate kindly waiting for the cue from the rider to make a move sitting behind the lead duo around the turn had a clear lane two wide in upper stretch but failed to fire in the late running.
