Chart notes
VOLCANIC emerged from the far outer post getting in good position going only two wide keeping a close eye on the contesting duo, rated kindly on the outside waiting for instructions from the rider when to make a move at the half, pounced three wide outside a couple of rivals midway along the far turn, took over control smartly in the four path at the top of the stretch and held well under a busy ride late for the win. ONENIGHTSTANDARDS galloped along on the inside of two contestants at the back of the pack, settled into a good rhythm loping along having only one runner beaten down the backside, was moving four wide with a sharp turn of foot at the five sixteenths pole going around horses, circled rivals six wide when straightening out for home and had a strong stretch run outside but was just second best to the winner who got the early jump in upper stretch. CAN'T JUMP was forwardly placed tracking the front pair on the rail, patiently waited inside watching the embattled trio fighting it out at the five sixteenths marker, angled four wide shifting off the tiring early leaders commencing a rally, chasing the winner in vain at the furlong pole and just got picked up late by an outside rival for the place share while well ahead of challengers for the third pace prize. MY BOY BRUCE sat on the outside paired up with another sitting in mid-pack, offered no change through the back straightaway, moved in taking closer order three wide around the last bend with a quarter mile to go, shifted to the five path in with a chance at the head of the lane and ran on mildly outside many rivals in deep stretch winning the scramble for the minor award. ETHNIC SOUL had the fence relaxing in midfield in tandem with an outside foe, made little progression down the backside, was scrubbed on unable to gain at the quarter pole, shifted to the three path between horses battling for a minor placing but evened out in the last furlong. FAST AND READY was brushed on the outside on the start, settled outside another near the rear, made no headway on the last turn when roused by the quarter marker, had the two path in upper stretch, lacked running room at the eighth pole and when getting clear late improved position in the final seventy yards. SHAMATEUR cleared away getting to the rail setting a moderate pace on the first turn, had a narrow lead inside being pressed down the backstretch, continued to fight on keeping a head in front of two others around the last corner, skimmed the fence conceding the lead to the winner outside in upper stretch but could not find more late wilting with runners on both sides in deep stretch. SPACE LAUNCH had the rail position ahead a only a few runners on the initial bend as well as throughout the backside, made little impression on the rail around the final turn and could not factor finishing up one paced on the rail in the last eighth of mile. SO CALLED VACATION was hard sent between horses in the beginning, hounded the pacesetter in the first part of this two turn event, vied between rivals two wide midway on the far turn battling up front, still remained in the mix just off the rail but the winner was starting to get away in upper stretch and had little left in the tank, faltering between foes in the final sixteenth of a mile. BOURBONONAHOLIDAY broke inwards on the start, settled between runners two wide part of the back trio early on, could see the field lagging behind in the backstretch running, travelled four wide on the final bend passing an inside weary straggler straggler at the five sixteenths pole, swung out widest to the six path for the drive but could not get involved. AUDAX MINOR was part the tail end going three wide outside a couple of runners on the first of two turns, advanced slightly three deep midway along the back straight, had little to give three wide on the second bend being relegated to the rear at the five sixteenths pole and could not find anything in the drive being a long last in the stretch running.
