Chart notes
FOUNTAIN RUN was sent to the front, dictated terms via a clear advantage into the backstretch, met an outer challenge rounding the far turn, repelled that rival and shook free once more in upper stretch, dug in when collared by a different bidder in the final sixteenth and narrowly held late. MILITARY ROAD stalked from the two path, chased the top pair around the far turn, shifted to the three path in upper stretch, rallied to gradually close in on the clear leader in the final furlong, offered a late bid but was denied at the wire. UNLOAD pursued from midpack two wide, chased in the three path around the far turn, stayed on in the four path to bid for show at the sixteenth pole then narrowly prevailed for that position between horses at the wire. EXCEL CALCULATOR broke a beat slow, pursued from midpack along the inside, paused behind foes into the far turn, shifted to the three path in upper stretch, challenged for show while mildly chasing between horses into the final sixteenth but missed that position at the wire. UNCLE EVCO was subtly put in tight between horses soon after the start, laid off of the pace in the two path, shifted to the four path with five furlongs to go, chased in the five path then stayed on mildly to miss show. DR. STORM broke a step slow, trailed in the two path, shifted to the five path in upper stretch and failed to factor. SALTWATER COWBOY tracked from the three path, bid outside of the eventual winner rounding the far turn but was repelled in upper stretch and weakened. MAGIC GRANT raced off of the pace in the three path then was through early.
