HIGH SPEED REED lacked early foot toward the inside, steadied when in tight before a half, moved out, advanced through the turn, swung out seven wide exiting the turn, outside bid with a furlong to run, drew clear under firm handling. PEONY PARK forwardly placed while five wide out of the chute, continued forwardly while angling in a bit when pressing the leader into the turn, dueled through much of the bend, got out entering the stretch, continued to battle on midstretch just inside the winner, could not match that one late, proved determined for the runner up spot. CLEVER MISS forwardly placed from toward the rail, continued in a forward position while idling a bit through the turn inside, lodged a bid between horses in upper stretch, not enough for the top two the final furlong. MISS MCCLOUD in the lead pack while between horses, four wide into the lane, in some traffic a furlong out, finished up evenly when clear. E TEE AYE pace 2p, dueled turn, continued to vie into the stretch while closest to the inside, weakened the final furlong to lose position. JERRI JO in the second flight while off the inside, came five wide into the streetch, lacked a closing punch. VELES devoid of speed off rail, came three wide for the drive, improved position without posing a serious threat. BATCYCLE in mid pack, floated out six wide into the stretch, made little impact in the run to the wire. SWEET KATHLEEN in mid pack early, steady fade after a half. MARIAMAKESMELAUGH hesitated at the break to spot the field several lengths, trailed up the backstretch, moved a bit closer into the turn then remained back and was never a threat. DICE DICE BABY broke back and was finished early.
