Chart notes
CIBORIO raced forwardly along the inside fence, advanced on the far turn when given his cue, continued with an inside bid and edged clear under steady pressure. TWIRLING saved ground, commenced a bid on the far turn and rallied while three wide in the stretch. CORISTINE moved to the front on the first turn, held well into the stretch and was worn down in the late going. FLAMEFIRE outpaced while four wide, went four wide into the stretch, was angled in approaching the furlong marker and offered a mild bid. POWER OF WILL stumbled at the start, was reserved in the rear of the field and never reached contention. CAPTAIN KARTER advanced to stalk on the first turn, was urged on the far turn and tired. JEAN LAFFITE pulled in the early going, lodged a brief bid on the far turn and faded.
