Chart notes

BABY NEEDS SHOES bobbled leaving the gate, tracked the speed from off the rail, spun five wide into the lane, closed in steadily through the final furlong, reeled in the leader three deep late and got up at the wire. HURRICANE LAYLA established the front quickly and crossed over, met the bid from FACTOR P at the five-sixteenths pole, turned that rival away midstretch, led clear into the final sixteenth and got nailed by the winner. CHRISTA MCAULIFFE chased from inside, tipped three wide leaving the turn, angled out further in upper stretch, rallied in tandem with HURRICANE LAYLA, challenged between foes late and finished a game third. FACTOR P got bumped from outside at the start, was closest in pursuit up the backstretch, challenged the leader from outside at the five-sixteenths pole, got turned away midstretch and flattened to fourth. LA CAT broke in and bumped FACTOR P, trailed two wide into the turn, angled to four path then chased three wide into the lane, drifted to the rail in upper stretch and weakened.
