Chart notes

WELLER GREEN had the fence ahead of only one runner in the beginning, was tapped on the shoulder at the seven sixteenths pole getting into the bit on the rail, started to get going when asked right-handed midway around the far turn, responded sharply making a strong swooping move four wide around runners at the quarter pole under a well-timed move with the early pace collapsing, swung out widest gathering even more speed in the six path in upper stretch and rushed home outside horses getting the lead with a furlong to go and drew off impressively for the win in the late stages. CALL ME BOND was brushed at the start, travelled three wide then three deep around the first turn and through the backstretch sitting in mid-division, had a good turn of foot making a rally at the quarter pole, grinded away in the hunt having the five path straightened out for the drive and finishing up smartly to be a non-threatening second best. BRIGHT ANGEL (IRE) ran in tandem with an outside foe sitting in mid-pack, had to wait behind a rival on the fence unable to commence a run from the five sixteenths pole until the top of the lane, moved out from horses in mid-stretch to the five path and showed a good late turn of foot surging in the final sixteenth of a mile getting up for the show award. SEMPER LIBER was left alone up top on the initial turn, had a narrow advantage inside two others midway down the backstretch under a brisk tempo, still remained on the fence holding onto the top spot in the second bend, edged away two wide from the closest chaser in upper stretch but could not fend off the late challengers in the final furlong and faded inside with a sixteenth left to run losing a couple of positions very late. MAKER'S FLATTER had a good spot well positioned on the rail watching the engaged threesome, was ridden on but could not make any headway on the fence at the five sixteenths pole stalling slightly, had the two path entering the stretch showing little but then moved outside off of horses at the furlong pole five wide and came back on gaining a couple of placings at the wire. BIG SCREEN BOSS settled between horses in midfield, had the outside position in the third flight down the back straight, was scrubbed on through the last bend narrowing the margin at the quarter pole but could not offer a finishing kick and ran on only one paced unable to get involved in the last eighth of a mile. SKAAL tracked the frontrunner between horses, closed in vying for the front end mildly in the two path with foes on either side midway down the backstretch, came under a drive just trying to hold position at the quarter marker, skimmed the fence still battling for a piece of the prize at the top of the lane until the furlong pole but gave way inside rivals in deep stretch. POLITICAL WARFARE was forwardly placed three wide on the outside, moved closer being nudged along part of the front mix three deep outside two foes at the half, inched up two wide to the leader at the quarter pole, posed a threat outside in upper stretch but could not find more late and faltered between foes at the furlong pole. NOBURU broke a step slow having only the other poor starter beaten in the early stages, was asked for more run offering little response at the three eighths pole and in the two path down the lane could not be a factor in the late running. MAD WORLD broke inwards at the start having to be taken a hold of briefly to get straightened out, had the rail seeing the field around the first turn, continued at the back with a half mile to go and could not get into gear remaining at the tail end of the pack in the stretch drive.
