Chart notes
SENOR VALENTINE saved ground, bid near the half-mile pole, angled to the four path nearing the quarter pole, rallied and was clear under a mild drive. GREYSTAR dueled inside of one rival, then another, was clear in the stretch but couldn't hold off the winner. HITCHCOCK stalked in the three path, bid near the half-mile pole and dueled outside the leader before giving way. HOT ICE dueled outside of a rival to the three-eighths pole and gave way. QUIET EMPIRE was brushed at the start and saved ground to no avail. PEZZONOVANTE raced in the two path, bid on the far turn and faltered in the stretch. WHATEVER was not a factor.
