Chart notes
BORDER CONTROL raced on a clear lead for the first half mile while setting a dawdling pace, repsonded when challenged approaching the quarter pole, battled through the lane along the inside, lost the lead midway down the stretch and came on again gamely to re-claim the top spot nearing the wire. NEEDED prompted the pace to the far turn, rallied to challenge the winner at the quarter pole, vied for the lead from between rivals to the wire and just missed in a good effort. LA ARTISTA stalked the pace down the backside while pulling against restraint, ranged up four wide on the turn, rallied in upper stretch to take the lead at the eighth pole and was outkicked in the final sixteenth by the top pair to be narrowly defeated. MS BRIGHTSIDE (IRE) tracked the leaders under patient handling from the back of the condensed field, saved ground on the far turn tucked in just behing the pacesetter, hugged the rail waiting for an opening that never materialized, swung out across the field's heels in mid-stretch to the clear and could not make up ground late.
