Chart notes
JOHN FITZGERALD hit the gate coming out, shifted outside quickly, circled his field steadily to engage the leader in upper stretch, drifted inward when coaxed with a right handed crop bumping RED CHILLI PEPPER before the furlong marker and proved best under strong handling. MAY MAYHEM allowed to settle, rallied through deep stretch five wide and just missed. RED CHILI PEPPER pressed the pace two wide into the turn, made the lead nearing the top of the stretch, was bumped by the winner before the furlong marker, dug in gamely but was outfinished in the late stages. PECKS NOT BAD pressed the pace four then three wide and faded in the lane. DRILL CITY hopped at the start and was no threat. THEDAYOFTHEGREY set a pressured pace three wide until late on the turn then was used up. SO THAT'S THAT pressed the pace along the inside into the turn then flattened out.
