Chart notes
SOUL COAXING with the pace from the start while three out to four wide into and through the first turn, continued to vie on the outside up the backstretch, gained a larger advantage late in the final turn, responded when runner up moved closer approaching the furlong grounds, held that foe at bay under firm handling in a determined effort. RUSSELLS HUSTLE stalked the lead pack from the two path, continued behind that group into the far turn, tipped out four wide late in that bend, engaged the winner from the outside nearing midstretch, could not get by that rival while holding sway for the second spot. QUATERNION off a step slow, dropped inside to save ground through the first turn, continued to save ground backstretch and through the final bend, cut the corner to move closer to the top two entering the straight, slowly closing the gap on that pair late. TWOKO BAY in the second group while outside the runner up, could not keep up with that one second turn, came three wide into the lane, drifted out upper stretch, went evenly to the wire the final furlong. CINCO RICHIE set or forced the pace while between horses and inside the winner for six furlongs, had little left for the stretch run. PUBLIUS vied up front while closest to the inside, also backed up through the stretch.
