Chart notes
LA JOLLA BEACH established the front quickly, took pressure from LUCKY VEGAS at the five-sixteenths pole, dueled into the lane, drifted out at the eighth pole, turned LUCKY VEGAS away shortly after and stayed clear to the wire. LUCKY VEGAS bobbled leaving the gate, followed in range four deep, challenged LA JOLLA BEACH from outside at the five-sixteenths pole, got floated out at the eighth pole, could not match that rival in the furlong grounds but was clearly second best. TURN ON ARCH tracked from off the rail, took the turn three wide, angled out into the lane, flattened in the late stages but was able to secure third. WHIMSICAL HEIR stalked outside a pair of rivals approaching the turn, moved into the two path around the bend, stayed off the rail to the stretch and weakened. BIG A'S LITTLE ONE broke well from inside then dropped back, saved ground through the turn, steered out then came back to the inside in upper stretch and lacked further response. PAYRULA broke a step slow, moved up quickly then had to take a hold between rivals, checked into the turn, got shuffled around the bend, angled out and failed to rally. STEPN INTO TRAFFIC raced up close on the inside early, started to weaken around the bend and tired.
