Chart notes
JUDGE HERNANDEZ broke best from the break, was shadowed by WE WILL CONQUER from the outside, dug in under a threat from that foe in upper stretch, came out a path in deep stretch into the path of the rival but held clear to the finish. WE WILL CONQUER pressed the pace two-deep from the start, made an earnest bid for the lead approaching the quarter pole, checked when the rival came out a path in upper stretch, continued to chase to the finish but came up short. HALTER BOY broke a step slow, then settled in the second flight inside of a rival well off the pace of the top pair, separated from that one on the turn, then made a late bid up the rail to gain ground, but was too late. CAN OF CORN trailed the field to the outside of HALTER BOY well behind the other two, dropped farther behind on the turn and trailed to the wire. THERE WAS A STEWARDS INQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING LOOKING AT THE UPPER STRETCH. ALSO, THE JOCKEY ON #2 WE WILL CONQUER LODGED A CLAIM OF FOUL AGAINST #5 JUDGE HERNANDEZ ALLEGING INTERFERENCE AT THAT SAME POINT. AFTER A REVIEW, #5 JUDGE HERNANDEZ WAS DISQUALIFIED FROM 1ST AND PLACED 2ND. DUE TO A TIMING MALFUNCTION, THE 1/4 SPLIT TIME WAS UNAVAILABLE.
