Chart notes
WOODSON broke well but took up behind the leading line near the nine sixteenths and was relegated near the rear, offered a three wide bid past the three eighths mark and quickly engaged the leading flight, led approaching the quarter pole, drifted out a few paths when driven in upper stretch but nonetheless put MIGHTY ARMY away approaching the furlong pole and forged clear. MIGHTY ARMY was outsprinted to the lead in the opening furlong but keen to advance and attend the early pace outside of FIRST TAKELA and KID GOT RHYTHM past the half-mile mark, dueled outside of FIRST TAKELA from the seven sixteenths, was engaged from the outside by WOODSON near the five sixteenths, was headed by that foe approaching the quarter pole, continued to battle inside that foe under a drive but was only second best in the final furlong. FIRST TAKELA was sent for speed, dueled inside of MIGHTY ARMY from the seven sixteenths, could not go with that foe and WOODSON approaching the quarter pole, but chased on with interest to hold the show. RUDIE WON'T FAIL was bumped by KID GOT RHYTHM in the opening strides, settled at the rear, tipped out into the three to four path while pushed along on the turn, swung out to the seven path for the drive and passed tired horses late. T C GOLD was sent for speed out of the gate but ended up tracking behind the leading trio, continued two wide around the turn, swung into the lane in the six path between horses for the drive, and offered no rally. KID GOT RHYTHM broke outward and bumped RUDIE WON'T FAIL in the opening strides but was nonetheless sharply away, but got shuffled back to midfield into the turn, hugged the rail while chasing inside of T C GOLD around the turn, was driven into upper stretch and came up empty.
