Chart notes
STERLING HEIGHTS was in no hurry co-trailing on the inside down the backstretch, waited patiently on the fence behind foes in midturn, hugged the rail getting an inside seam turning for home, shifted out to the three path off the leaders in upper stretch gathering more momentum, got a head in front of the embattled inside duo at the sixteenth pole and inched away further for the win when crossing the finish line. CRUMLIN FASHION was a little keen leaving the gate, moved up to contently hound the frontrunner outside with a half mile from home, continued outside applying pressure to the leader around the bend, had the two path between horses very much in the thick of things in mid-stretch and fought on stubbornly late but could not match strides with the winner outside in the final seventy yards. CHARGETHATMOUNTAIN was on the front end setting a moderate pace on the fence, continued to have a slim advantage quickening the pace slightly in the turn running, was headed outside digging in at the quarter pole, had the rail still clinging onto the top spot with two runners bearing down at the furlong marker but faded late inside being alone in third at the wire. APRIL DE VELP was hard held drafting behind the pacesetter in the beginning, settled into stride in midfield inside another at the half, sat poised behind the lead pair shifting out leaving the rail open at the five sixteenths pole, angled to the four path in the mix taking the final corner but could only settle on the fringes finishing up one paced in the final furlong. TAKE CHANCES tracked in tandem with an inside foe in the second flight with the field paired up in the early stages, was ridden on for more at the quarter pole just holding onto position, shifted from the four path to be just off the rail dropping back in upper stretch and failed to menace in the drive to the finish line. HOLIDAY ROSE was a joint last in the outside along the back straightaway, offered a brief turn of foot trying to circle around rivals four wide at the quarter pole, swung out widest in the five path turning for home but came up empty for the stretch drive outside of rivals.
