SISTER MARJORIE was off a bit slow, trailed the field, advanced on the far turn, came wide into the stretch, closed steadily outside in the final furlong, ran down the leader in the final yards and edged away. SLIVER OF SUNSHINE pulled in the early stages racing close up on the inside, tracked, then vied two wide on the backside, dueled with SILENT MELODY on the far turn, took over, drew clear in the stretch, dug in gamely and yielded grudgingly late. SILENT MELODY bobbled slightly at the break, rated the pace on the inside early on, then vied inside on the backside, dueled on the far turn and tired. K D KAKES stalked close up outside early on, then chased and gave way.
