Chart notes

CAPTAIN GEORGE was hustled from the gate, showed speed then was well placed just off the pace, saved ground on the turn, was asked while given a clear rail opening at the top of the stretch, came through to get the lead around the three-sixteenths pole, kicked clear outside the furlong marker and held under strong urging. RAISE THE ROOF was bumped on both sides at the start then checked sharply, went around the turn in the two path, angled out in upper stretch and finished well to get the place. EQUILIBRATE bumped with rivals on both sides at the start then steadied and dropped back, went around the turn in the three path, came into the stretch in the five path and improved for the show. CHALLENGE ME was rated off the pace, dropped back when MONACO CROWN came in inside the three-quarter pole, saved ground on the turn, was asked for his best in upper stretch and lacked the needed kick while just able to get the last spot in the superfecta. SOLO STRYKER was rated off the pace, went around the turn in the two path, was asked for his best in upper stretch, raced between horses into the final furlong and lacked the needed response. FARMER JIM broke a half-step slow, settled towards the back, saved ground on the turn, swung into the stretch in the four path then moved further out and failed to threaten. ISLAND PAL dropped in entering the backstretch, settled off the pace, traveled around the turn in the three then four path, came into the stretch in the six path then shifted further out and failed to rally. CREAM AND CRIMSON broke a bit slow, raced well back in the field, went around the turn in the four to five path, turned into the stretch in the seven path and was no factor. MONACO CROWN stumbled at the start then bumped with a foe, tucked in near the three-quarter pole, was rated off the pace, rounded the turn in the two path, shifted out to the four path after turning into the stretch, remained on his inside lead in the drive and came up empty. MCMOON broke awkwardly from the outside post, showed speed then tracked the pace, raced in the three path on the turn, was put to a drive in upper stretch, dropped back into the final furlong and capitulated. FALCONER broke a bit slow, was urged along passing the five-eighths pole, rounded the turn in the three path, spun into the stretch in the four path then moved in, drifted out under a left-handed crop near the sixteenth-pole and never reached contention. RAPIDLY ROYAL bumped with a foe just after the start, moved up on the outside to get the lead then showed the way, vied inside to the two path on the turn, lost the advantage in upper stretch and faded.
