Chart notes
MISSOURI RIVER settled off the pace inside, bid to the front at the quarter pole, moved clear and just lasted. LOST AND CONFUSED lacked speed, advanced inside to the stretch, angled out with a gradual late gain. WISH CAREFULLY prompted the pace outside and continued willingly to the finish. FREAKAZOID rated off the leaders outside, moved closer on the final turn but was outfinished. SMILE MON controlled the pace for five furlongs, was collared and faltered. NOGRADI was well placed outside the pacesetters then proved empty in the stretch. ALCHEMISM chased three wide and was always far back. ALEJANDRO dropped back after the start and trailed throughout. COMPATRIOT stumbled badly at the start unseating his rider. A claim of foul by the second finisher against the winner for interference in the stretch was dismissed.
