Chart notes
STARSHIP BELMONT set the pace on a clear lead under astrong early hold through solid fractions, repsonded when threatened on the far turn to kick clear and was unchallenged in the lane. DOMINANT STRANGER prompted the pace down the backstretch, edged closer to engage the winner on the far turn, failed to get passed and chased him home as second best. NELIDA reserved well off the pace down the backside, closed the gap on the bend to loom up nearing the quarter pole and flattened out in the stretch. UPPITY UP unhurried early, closed ground on the leaders down the backstretch to be in striking distance and finished evenly unable to sustain the rally. XERCES tracked the leaders to the far turn and faded from contention on the bend. PRUSSIAN BLUE was outrun.
