Chart notes
GRANDE DUNES set a well rated pace under steady pressure to the far turn, dueled with the runner-up from midway on the bend to deep stretch, battled gamely down the lane, drifted out briefly late in the lane and kicked away to be clear at the wire. HIDE N WATCH pressed the winner the entire way, edged up to vie for the lead on the far turn, ran-on head and head to mid-stretch, was carried out briefly by the winner without impact in deep stretch and finished well as second best. MATOWY raced wide into the first turn, was taken in hand on the bend dropping to the inside, saved ground through the final turn and rallied mildly in the lane to close the gap without threatening the top pair. WINDHURST stalked the pace to the final turn, failed to respond when called upon and travelled evenly coming home. LOST IN THE FIGHT fanned wide in the first turn to be near the rear of the field, was through early and wrapped up in the stretch. THE RIDER OF THE RUNNER-UP CLAIMED FOUL FOR INTERFERENCE IN DEEP STRETCH BY THE WINNER, UPON REVIEW THE STEWARDS MADE NO CHANGE.
